Helping you navigate child development through reflex integration
- SARA O'DONNELL -

What is reflex integration?
This intervention is a movement programme designed to mimic infant movement patterns, inhibit baby reflexes and establish lifelong reflexes.
It can be done individually or in groups; and is suitable for babies, children and adults.
Reflex Integration is not a 'quick fix' but when the programme is followed consistently we can see significant changes; this is because reflexes are part of the foundations of development.
What are reflexes?
Reflexes are automatic responses to stimuli or a change in body position. For example, if I trip my arms automatically come forwards.
Baby Reflexes
These are also called primitive reflexes and help babies learn how to move.
They are a fundamental part of development.
Lifelong Reflexes
These help us maintain good posture and respond to stimuli appropriately as children and adults.
Reflex Development
This process should occur naturally but can become more difficult if we have a diagnosed condition, traumatic birth and/or delayed milestones.
Trauma
Traumatic events can cause our primitive reflexes to become uninhibited and this makes appropriate responses more difficult.
